Heading out from Cape Town whisks you into the wilderness of South Africa, where endless dirt tracks will win over the most discerning gravel lovers. But even for fans of slick tyres, the South African capital has a lot to offer travel-hungry road riders.
Caroline Soubayroux and David Ferguson have completed the first 12,000 km of their journey around the world. They have bikepacked across North and South America, from Whitehorse, Canada to Miami and then from Bolivia's capital La Paz and down to Buenos Aires. Not even halfway through, there's already an infinity of emotions to be told.
