When the COVID restrictions were eased, Bruno Ferraro and Max Riese decided to celebrate the reopening of the borders by meeting at the end of a very adventurous gravel bike trip on the Tilliacher Joch/Forcella Dignas pass, which has marked the physical border between Italy and Austria since 1920.
The third week of this year’s Tour represents the peak of exploration as Col de la Loze, La Montée du Plateau de Glières and La Montée de Saint-Nizier-du-Moucherotte chart another Grande Boucle in search of new and old climbs and, in the end, a winner.
